Three finalists selected for Hopkins superintendent position

Hopkins, MN - The Hopkins School Board has unanimously selected three finalists to return for a second interview for the school district’s superintendent position. The finalists are:

  • Andrew Beaton, Assistant Superintendent, North St. Paul - Maplewood - Oakdale Schools, MN
  • Rebecca Brodeur, Senior Director of Teaching and Learning, Robbinsdale Area Schools, MN
  • Dr. Michael Thomas, Superintendent, Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools, MN

The finalists were selected from a pool of applicants based on criteria established by the school board and input provided through community focus groups and the public input survey. Five semi-finalists were interviewed on April 13, 2026.

The school board has scheduled interviews for the finalists beginning at 4:30 pm on Monday, April 20, 2026.

All interviews will be held in the Eisenhower Community Center Board Room 233 (1001 MN-7, Hopkins) and are open to the public. To ensure a level playing field for all candidates the interviews will not be livestreamed. Recordings of the three finalist interviews will be posted for viewing on the district website until April 27, 2026. The lone finalist’s interview will then remain posted indefinitely.
