North Middle School principal Julius Eromosele was honored with the Minnesota International Baccalaureate (MNIB) Leadership Award on May 27, recognizing his visionary leadership and commitment to advancing IB values in Minnesota schools. The award was presented by the executive director of the Minnesota Association of IB World Schools during a surprise visit.
Eromosele was surprised to receive the award, which celebrates leaders who exemplify collaboration, advocacy, and dedication to the mission of IB education. During his tenure, Eromosele has strengthened the IB Middle Years programme at North by fostering a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.
“I have always believed that IB is a great vehicle to honor and represent the voices of our students and teachers in the classroom, all while pushing the academic rigor,” Eromosele said. “IB allows the perspective of individuals while honoring the collective ‘we.’”
Eromosele was nominated for the award by Angela Wilcox, an IB coordinator and sixth-grade teacher at North Middle School. Wilcox said Eromosele is one of the most gifted leaders she has worked with in her career.
“Julius is a servant leader,” Wilcox said. “He brings his own identity and life experience to his passion for serving all students and families, and he quickly embraced IB as a framework that would allow us to create a thriving community of learners.”
