LAC Candidate Forum on October 1

Meet the Candidates

FORUM 2022

Saturday, October 1, 9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

The Hopkins LAC hosts a community forum in election years, and we are hoping you can join us virtually this year on Saturday, October 1, 2022. Our virtual format was very well-received in 2020, with thousands of constituents tuning in to listen and learn. Again this year, we will host via Zoom and live stream on our LAC Facebook page, with access available for future viewing.

All 14 candidates seeking to represent the Hopkins Public Schools are invited to participate in this popular community event. With redistricting, we have some new legislative district boundaries and district numbers. You can check your local voting district here. We will have 4 Senators and 6 Representatives elected to serve us at the state Capitol.

The sole focus of our forum is education, and we will ask 2-3 questions that each candidate receives in advance, plus additional questions submitted by the community. with each of our 4(Senate), legislative districts scheduled at a separate 1-hour time slot between 9:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. (schedule below). You may tune in for your specific district, or watch all 4 sessions! This is a key opportunity to hear the candidates’ views on timely and important education issues. Please submit your education-related questions for the candidates to LAC@HopkinsSchools.org by September 28, 2022.
